Our airfield is centrally located to some of Northern California’s most celebrated destinations: Lake Tahoe, the San Francisco Bay Area, the rugged Lost Coast, and the many hidden gems of Northern California. Whether you're planning a day trip, a weekend adventure, or a quick hop to Tahoe, you're already halfway there.
Alta Sierra Airport is a dream realized for aviation enthusiasts. It is a private-use airport (09CL) that remains possible only through the dedication, camaraderie, and stewardship of our members. Here, ownership carries a shared responsibility and a shared pride. Together, the owners volunteer their time and resources to maintain and operate the runway, taxiways, and associated facilities — ensuring that our airfield remains safe, beautiful, and operational for years to come.
It’s a team effort, and it is this spirit of volunteerism that makes Alta Sierra Airport not just a place to live, but a community to belong to.
The ASAOA website serves as the central repository for important information — including Notices, Operating Rules, Meeting Minutes, Election Information, Maintenance Updates, and our community's Vegetation and Runway Management Plans. We encourage you to check the website regularly, as it is the primary platform for member communications in compliance with the Davis-Stirling Act (California Civil Code §§4045, 5310).
